FormscanBy Alan Magee - RIVEN LIGHT failed to add to an easy Thurles maiden win over hurdles but the decision to revert to the Flat has paid off well winning twice including the valuable Colm Quinn BMW Handicap over an extended mile at Galway. He was denied a clear run when bidding to follow up on the Sunday of the big Ballybrit Festival, and should now reverse places with Dream Walker on advantageous terms. Zawraq has always been held in high regard but has obviously been very difficult to train as evidenced by just three runs in as many years. However it’s encouraging that connections continue to persevere with the son of Shamardal, and all his runs have been with cut in the ground including a Guineas Trial win at Leopardstown on heavy. Canary Row is a confirmed mudlark and finished well to take a Listed race at Killarney last time. Savannah Storm ran too bad to be true at Galway but has handled heavy ground well in the past, while Bengala drops back in trip and has had a little break since finding the company too hot in the Darley Irish Oaks.
