Nibbled at from 20/1 into 14's, WALY'S OWN appreciated the step back to the minimum trip over which he landed a maiden here last spring. Striking the front soon after two out, he stayed on strongly all the way to the line.

REACHING OUT conversely appears to be crying out for a longer trip. He stayed on really well from the home turn, similar to his previous placing over two miles at Navan, and can surely score over two and a half miles despite an inevitable further rise in the ratings for this solid effort.

KARLU attracted support in morning price lists (14/1-8/1) and looked a serious threat entering the straight before finding little from two out. He flattered before falling when beaten at the last in the mud at Down Royal last month, and could be interesting on better ground.

KERMER, a maiden winner over an extra half mile at Clonmel last month, put in a solid run on her handicap debut. She was outpaced from the home turn over this inadequate trip.

SOLEIL LEVANT was prominent throughout but weakened quickly after leading over the second last. She may have just needed this after a nine week lay-off. ERRA GO ON was noted travelling strongly before three out but had already come under pressure when a mistake two out ended his challenge.
