The debate here centred on whether MANO BOY would have won with a reasonable jump at the last. As it was he lost all chance with a desperate blunder, allowing MYSTICAL BREEZE to tough it out best on the run-in.

Off for over a year until reappearing with a non-descript effort in a maiden at this course earlier in the month, MYSTICAL BREEZE was competing from a rating of 79 and though the son of Mujadil probably won?t find a follow-up easy, at least he displayed a willing attitude.

BRANDAM, blinkered for the first time, showed enough to give rise to optimism for his chance in a similar heat. MIKEY JOE wasn?t great at the final hurdle and though it is frustrating that he now hasn?t got off the mark, surely a deserved win can?t be too far away. His jumping could do with brushing-up, but he took this race well after a tough exertion at Limerick on Saturday. MANO BOY, on his first appearance in a handicap, was the main one to take from the race. He had every chance under pressure when getting the final flight all wrong. GUSSO DEE missed the second last but it made no difference. THEICECREAMFELLOW grazed his off fore. LISABBEY LORD (injured) was a non-runner.
