Formscan - HAVEN outran market expectations when second in the Fillies Mile. She was visually impressive in defeat and could be hard to catch with her sights lowered this time. Stable companions Speckles and So Lovely are closely matched on overall form but may have to settle for supporting roles on this occasion. Bigger dangers are posed by Sizzling Affair and Haldon Pier, who appear to be open to considerable improvement after their respective wining debuts last month.

He has the makings of a smashing colt for next year,. All being well, he'll come back here for one of the trials. Obviously his maiden couldn't have worked out any better this year. He was still pretty raw with Wayne, but I suppose with the way the track is set up today turning, he could never really get him balanced and into a rhythm. In fairness, when he asked him, he went forward nicely. The second horse helped him. There's still plenty of improvement in there and he's one that will make the winter a wee bit shorter.
