Sligo Wed, 5th Aug, 2026  Anightaway After he ran in Navan, he wasn't right and in fairness to my 'back man', Shane Rattigan (equine physio based in Athlone) he did a lot of work with him and got him right. We took our time with him and his work had been getting better and more consistent. There aren't many of these 0-6os over a mile and a half, and after he worked well last week and the rain arrived, we said we'd come here. I don't know much about the market support for him. I said to my partner Sinead this morning that I thought he'd run well, so maybe she was pressing a few buttons at home! . We'll enjoy this and look for something similar, he seems to stay well.

Curragh Sat, 18th Jul, 2026  Moody She's a nice filly. She's won her Listed race, her Listed race with a penalty and, a Group 3 now. She's versatile. With Mr. Fabre, she ran at nine furlongs twice. She's just tough and I'd say she's good, too. I liked the look of her form and we buy a lot of those fillies at that level. We can't afford, maybe, the better ones. Some of them win and some of them don't. I'd say she's just got ability. That's a good trip for her. She's not short of speed. When she won at a mile and a-half in Cork, the way she quickened, I knew a mile and two wasn't a problem. The other race just came up at a time in her training (Vintage Tipple Stakes at Gowran) when I thought it might suit to run her. We did that, but I doubt we'll be going back to 1m6f. She's in the Jean Romanet, she's in the Yorkshire Oaks, she's in the Vermeille. She's in everything. I ran her today because I kind of felt if I waited for the Give Thanks (at Cork in August), I'd be too close to all those races.

Fairyhouse Wed, 8th Jul, 2026  Contrary To Law He’s a horse that has been given us a bit of trouble at home. He’s keen and we were running him over six furlongs just to try and hold on to him. I thought the step up to seven would suit him today, in a race like this with plenty of pace. Ben said he relaxed well, was a bit green when he went for him first, but he said he finished the race out strongly. He hasn’t been doing that. We’re happy that he has today and he’s on the right track. Hopefully, he can keep improving now. He’s bred to probably stay another furlong, but I’d say seven is a good trip at the moment.

Ascot Sat, 20th Jun, 2026  Lost Boys It’s time to celebrate now but we will make the plans down the line. Group races can’t be too far away,. Then after the first bend I had a little bit of hope because he looked like he was switching off really nicely, basically he recharged his batteries at that point to finish off the race. But what a finish, he was unbelievable. He’s an exceptional horse because he shows us different traits every time.

Ascot Wed, 17th Jun, 2026  Ombudsman Aidan (O’Brien) had a pacemaker and we thought we would have ours doing what we wanted to do as well so they wound up meeting as they came off the bend so they obviously agreed on the pace. A furlong and a half to go I thought ‘they are going to have to get to them’ but this horse has got a turn of foot, great acceleration for a mile and a quarter horse and he just showed that class. It was quite something to come away from the field like that. The filly (Minnie Hauk) ran great, the Arc winner Daryz ran great. Probably the horse that won in Ireland (Almaqam) might not have run his race today because he would usually have been in the shake-up but overall I thought it was one of the great performances of his career. He is very elegant. He is strong for sure. We will watch him for the next week to 10 days and the horse will tell you (how he is). You just watch them. You know their habits when they are right when they are 100 per cent, when they are full of it and when they are under par. The Juddmonte International would be the major target. He likes York. We are very lucky to have wonderful owners to send us those horses because you can’t train empty boxes. He is right up there with what he has done. Enable, she won everything. He is a lovely horse who will make a good stallion and he’s got a mind as well as a fabulous body and strength. He is too good to go a mile and a half!

To win these races is what it’s all about and it’s great to beat the best on this stage. Aidan and I are big rivals but we get on and we tease each other a lot. There’s no harm in that and it’s a little bit of banter. Ombudsman though is a wonderful horse and only Calandagan and Delacroix beat him last year and he’s shown his class again today. He quickened well and showed some dominance there. You had Arc winners and champion racemares in there and it was a champions performance. I was really taken by his acceleration. It’s thrilling to win this again for Sheikh Mohammed and Godolphin, it’s what dreams are made of.

You kind of have to adapt, and it was a case of getting him back relaxed and breathing again and in his rhythm, and once he found that he was powerful. I felt a little bit of pressure coming here today on an unbeaten Guineas winner, but thankfully we managed to get the job done. He travelled very powerfully and has a great turn of foot. Gstaad and Ryan (Moore) probably had a more economical route than we did, so we wasted a lot of ground, but he’s a very talented horse and was tough towards the business end. Obviously there’s pressure riding a horse like him, but it’s pressure you want and I’m very privileged to be in a position to partner him, and I can’t wait for the next couple of races to come up. It’s a pinch yourself moment, and I can’t thank George and the owners enough for having faith in me. It’s a dream to be training horses like this, to be trusted with them. To do it with Billy makes it even more special because he’s like a younger brother. To have that affinity with a jockey is amazing. I’ve been lucky to have a lot of good riders ride for me, but he’s an exceptional talent both on and off the horse. He is meticulous in his planning going to the track, to be able to send him to Royal Ascot on an unbeaten Guineas winner is as good as it gets.

Obviously I’ve only watched it once, but it was quite a scrap early doors, he was almost keen at one point, William’s horse (Buick, on Talk Of New York) came past and I think we’ll see a better horse now that he’s been in a scrap like that. He’s done everything we’ve hoped; it’s fine margins in this game and luckily he was on the right side of it.

The horse was coming back to him, but he needed to get into a scrap, he’s got a lot ahead of him. I was really impressed with his tenacity today, he showed a great turn of foot to go and hit the front. He’s done everything we’ve hoped; it’s fine margins in this game and luckily he was on the right side of it.

Leopardstown Thu, 11th Jun, 2026  Cromac Quay Cromac Quay never ran last year, as we gave her the time and she bumped into two quite good fillies, I think, on her first two runs. The last day, when she got beaten by Jim Bolger’s filly (Sparan Nua), she pulled off a shoe so there was an excuse as to why she kept going up and down in the last furlong. Today she showed she had the acceleration and it's nice to have one like her. She did that well. She's in the Brownstown Stakes (Listed) here, so she'll probably go there next and I also put her in the Group 2 at the Curragh on Oaks day.

Gowran Park Tue, 5th May, 2026  Moody She’s a filly that hasn’t a lot of racing done,. It might have looked like a bit of an odd idea to come with a penalty into a Listed race having won a Listed race but I felt that it was only her fourth run and I wanted her to learn a bit more. I thought she’d stay, without absolutely relishing the mile-six. I thought she had the class to stay. She was here to learn and hopefully we’ll go for the Munster Oaks next.

Limerick Sat, 25th Apr, 2026  Electric Night The switch to the grass was a big help for her and the easy ground wasn't a concern, as the feeling was that she mightn't have been loving Dundalk. We came to find out, she won very well and it was probably a fair effort against older horses. When she started off, we were hoping she'd win a Dundalk maiden but she was disappointing and had also been slow to come to hand. She is a well-bred filly and hopefully she can progress. I was a little bit worried about the ground, whether it would be okay for her, because to me she needs good ground. She’s a very easy moving filly. They did a great job with the ground here and there was a nice bit of drying. She raced on her own there and I was very happy with her. She hit the line very well so you wouldn’t be worried about the mile now. I was a little bit worried about it but not after that. We’ll think high with her and then see where we aim then.
