Formscan By Michael Graham - LIMESTONE is a half-brother to a horse that was beaten a neck into second in an Irish Derby and could develop into a useful stayer this season. He had a solid two-year-old campaign that yielded placed finishes in Killarney and Tipperary before he got off the mark in Listowel. The step up in trip should see him in a good light. Port Ferdinand is another that should relish the extra yardage after he scored over 7f on debut at Naas last autumn. Both of these colts hold multiple Derby entries. Irish Derby entry Mr Vettori was strong at the finish in Gowran Park last October, and better ground and a longer trip are expected to suit him well.

Quotes on Mr Vettori (IRE)
He ran a very good race the last day and the winner (Hawk Mountain) went on to win the Beresford. We trained the mother and sister, who won her maiden up the Curragh, and he’ll be a lovely horse going a mile and a-quarter next year. Shane (Foley) said he absolutely hated the ground and won despite it, so that always gives you a nice buzz.
After Mr Vettori (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Mon, 20th Oct 2025 1m Flat Maiden Heavy
