The winner, Neil The Legend (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Ludlow on 12 November 2020 where the gelding finished fourth of four runners, beaten by 78 lengths.
The representative of Nicky Henderson explained that the gelding had appreciated the switch back to chasing and had further benefited from being ridden more prominently on this occasion.
His explanation was noted.
The performance of Go Steady (GB), which started favourite and finished fifth, beaten 16¼ lengths was considered.
The representative of Dan Skelton's explanation that the gelding was never travelling, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Go Steady (GB), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
