Naas Sun, 26th Jan, 2025  Answer To Kayf I suppose heavy ground makes a huge difference and a drop in class too. It just goes to show how good those beginners' chases are as he couldn’t get a blow in. We’re hoping to go to Cheltenham with him, but I suppose the handicapper is going to give him a fair lump for that. The 2m4f novice handicap chase is the only one he can run in. There is a 3m5f novice as well, but you have to be in the first four over three miles and he hasn’t run over three miles. The owners are thrilled and get a great buzz out of it. This has been a dream horse for them. At the end of the year an Irish National might not be out of the question.

Navan Sat, 18th Jan, 2025  Music Of Tara John Flood from Boardsmill Stud bought her to breed from. He said he would give her a chance and see how she goes. Delighted to have a winner for John. Both he and Faye (Morris, wife) are very good friends of mine. She will mix chasing and hurdling. There is a race in England in three weeks time at Huntingdon that we are going to go for - a mares' Listed chase.

Leopardstown Fri, 27th Dec, 2024  Romeo Coolio Obviously it didn’t go to plan the last day and we all went home a bit disappointed,. I’m delighted for the boys, they are back over here today. I’m very proud of the horse, and the boys that own him, as they are big supporters of Cullentra. He had a little blip the last day and we’re very happy. Looking at that today, I’d say just a fast gallop is what he needs. He looked good there today. We said after the last day, we were going to go on and keep it simple. I’d imagine he’ll probably go for the Supreme Novices’.

Punchestown Sat, 23rd Nov, 2024  Watch The Weather It’s the first time that Tiernan rode for me and he gave him a lovely ride. I told him to try and keep him on the bridle for as long as he could and come with one run. I thought the ground was gone on him. He’s better on better ground and that’s the first time that he’s won on that sort of ground. He jumped for fun and it’s a great pot to win. He’s been on the go all summer and will go on his holidays now. We’ll have him back in the spring maybe for Punchestown.

Down Royal Sat, 2nd Nov, 2024  Romeo Coolio He's a speedy horse and I'm delighted with him. He's a real two miler, a quick horse. He'll definitely stay two miles. I think he was almost foot perfect - even down to the last, he got in close to it and quick away from it. A great performance, he jumped class. He came out of Donnchadh's (Doyle) and all those horses are very well schooled. Last year in Punchestown he was running a bit keen and probably got a bit lit up at the end of the season. He's a lot stronger - even watching him walking around the ring, there is a big improvement in him today. Last year he was light. I imagine the Royal Bond will be where he goes, all being well.

Wexford Sun, 27th Oct, 2024  Watch The Weather The plan was to run him yesterday at Galway. He was declared on good ground and obviously it went yielding to soft, so it would have been a waste of time. We ran him on heavy in Listowel the last day and Conor Stone-Walsh said he hated it all the way and never went. Even today I was a little bit worried would the yielding ground be quick enough for him. He has a little bit of a wind problem and needs everything to go right, but he got a very, very good ride today. I told Danny to just drop him out and fill him with confidence and leave him on the bridle as long as he could.  . He is a good horse when things go right for him, but he can be very in and out a bit. He struggles to win but I'm delighted for his owner. He obviously likes it here, he won here before and was third twice in two beginners'.  . As soon as the ground turns soft or heavy he will be left off, but we might get a bit of nicer ground at some of the better tracks. We will probably keep him on the go for a little bit longer anyway and he'll go on his holidays then. I'd imagine we'll stick to fences with him for the time being anyway, he jumps well, he is very good to jump, he knows what he is doing.

Clonmel Thu, 24th Oct, 2024  Tareze That was brilliant and I'm delighted for Sally Rowley-Williams as she has been a tremendous supporter of ours for years and it is lovely to see her win with a really nice homebred. She was a nice mare in the spring, but was always big and I felt she'd do better with a bit of time under her belt. She is still only a five-year-old, will improve plenty although definitely wouldn't want the ground any better than that. Darragh said it was safe though so we were happy to go.
