Shane (Baragry, 22 from Fermoy) rides out for me five mornings a week and is a grand lad who works hard,. That's his first racecourse winner and I rode against his father Jerry in point to points. It was great for the owner (Michael Coffey) too as he has been patient and also had some grief in the family by losing a brother-in-law last year. W J Burke, trainer

The Stewards interviewed Mr S.J.P. Baragry, rider of Jordan Bay, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. S. J. P. Baragry was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered Mr. S. J. P. Baragry's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion

Mr B. O'Neill, rider of My Boy Grizzle, trained by J.Motherway, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free early, stopped very quickly in the closing stages and had no more to give on the ground.

Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. All horses running in this race must hold a current Hunters Certificate. A Hunter Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2020/2021 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 16th March or the horse will not be qualified to start. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2020/2021 season.
