Permission was given for Dontelimurnamepike (GB), Knighton (GB) and Orphan Ollie (IRE) to all wear a red hood to the start.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Mickey Bowen, the trainer of Whatsgoingonmarvin (IRE), had administered iced bandage therapy to the gelding on the day of the race.
The trainer, the Veterinary Officer and the Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer were interviewed.
As Whatsgoingonmarvin (IRE) had received iced bandage therapy in the racecourse stables on the day of the race without prior Veterinary Officer approval, the Stewards withdrew the gelding and fined Bowen £140.
Following the race, Craig Nichol reported that Knighton (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
