We were nearly running out of years (to win again over hurdles)! The ground was too quick for him the last day, there were hurdles omitted and today suited better,. He might go for a veterans' race in England on his next start. There are three of them coming up at Warwick, Leicester and Kelso and there is a final of that series in January which is worth a few pounds. He is too high for the veterans' race at Limerick but he'll be ok for the 0-150 veterans' final in England. This is his time of year.
Eoghan O'Grady
We are delighted with him. That's eleven races now, the lads are having savage fun with him,. He might go back over hurdles now or he could go for the Topham at Aintree. He has a nice hurdles rating. We will see how he is in the morning.
Eoghan O'Grady
He jumped well, stayed and settled well today. It happened a bit easier for him over three miles today than the last day over hurdles where he might have been taken off his feet (at Thurles). If the ground dries up, he won't run again this season. He has been a great servant and it's been a great week for us.
Eoghan O'Grady
We'll either go to Gowran on March 11th next with him or there's also a race at Leopardstown on March 5th - they're two handicaps,. We've got great fun out of him and I'm delighted with him - if we got one more like that we'd be sorted! We'll keep going as long as it's heavy.
Eoghan O'Grady
He loves that winter ground, although we were very lucky that the favourite made a mistake at the last.
Eoghan O'Grady
We were thinking if today went to plan that we would go to Fairyhouse with him on Sunday week for a novice handicap chase,”
Eoghan O'Grady
I was very worried at the last but he stayed on really well and Phillip gave him a great ride. We'll probably wait for softer ground as he likes a good cut in it.
Eoghan O'Grady
He might come back here for a handicap hurdle over two and a half miles on April 10th.
Eoghan O'Grady
He came back to his Thurles bumper run and had his ideal conditions over two miles, on soft ground and in that grade. We decided to make plenty use of him today and we'll see what mark he gets now before making a plan. He needs soft ground so will be left off later in the season.
Eoghan O'Grady
