Permission was given for Master Breffni (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Neigh Botha (IRE) to go early to post.
Toby Wynne, the rider of Neigh Botha (IRE), unplaced, beaten by 3 ¾ lengths for fifth place, had appeared to stop riding approaching the ½ furlong marker.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Wynne explained that Neigh Botha (IRE) had weakened quickly after the last fence and although he had stopped riding briefly for approximately two to three strides, he felt that Neigh Botha (IRE) had obtained the best possible placing.
His explanation was noted.
The Veterinary Officer subsequently examined the gelding post-race and reported that Neigh Botha (IRE) finished lame on its right fore.
