Permission was given for EVA’S EYES and Sarabi (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving, the winner, Manton Road (GB) ridden by Luke Morris and Perfect Ruby (IRE), placed second, ridden by Joe Leavy.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of Manton Road (GB) as it shifted markedly right-handed, bumping Perfect Ruby (IRE) who appeared to be a head in front and holding Manton Road (GB).
As a result of the interference Perfect Ruby (IRE) appeared to lose the head advantage and the Stewards felt that without the considerable contact Perfect Ruby (IRE) would of maintained its advantage to the line.
The placings were revised as follows; First – Perfect Ruby (IRE); Second – Manton Road (GB); Third – EVA’S EYES; Fourth – Spinning Dancer (IRE).
The interference was found to be accidental as Manton Road (GB) hung right-handed, despite Morris’s best efforts to correct the gelding.
The winner Perfect Ruby (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chelmsford City on 9 January 2025 where the filly finished twelfth of thirteen runners beaten 10 lengths.
The representative of Richard Hannon’s explanation that Perfect Ruby (IRE) had benefitted from the application of first-time blinkers, was noted.
Following the race, Laura Coughlan reported that Tango In Paris (IRE), unplaced, reared badly in the stalls and was slowly away.
