Rounding the home bend, Flightofthephoenix (IRE), placed second, had to be steadied when disappointed for a clear run between a weakening Thunder Earthlight (GB), unplaced, and Looks Fantastic (GB), placed fifth, to its outside, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Joe Leavy reported that Mahogany Bay (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination found the filly to have finished stiff behind.
