Thurles Thu, 8th Oct, 2026  Blissful Bonita She is a lovely filly but has taken time and is still raw. I'd say she has plenty ability and you'd be hoping when she fills into her frame more, that she will keep on improving. She is entered for next week so we'll see if she turns out under a penalty. She stays really well and has schooled, so there was talk of going hurdling but might wait until next year. Mark Coleman (owner), who is local to Gavin's, has a few horses with us and won a Listed chase with Me Wee Bonnie Lass last April. He is a good fellow, so it is nice to get him another winner.

Roscommon Mon, 31st Aug, 2026  Phoenix Pairc She just dropped into that (0-60) grade last week and I’m sure she’ll be back out of it again but we’ll find something similar,. They went very hard and is suited us from a bad draw. She broke well but Billy said they were going too hard so he let her slot in. He said it’s beautiful ground here and she just got there. There is only one winning post and I’m delighted. I’m delighted for Ciaran (O’Reilly). He’s a local man and they bred that filly as well. He’s a St Brigid’s (GAA) man here in Roscommon.

Kilbeggan Mon, 15th Jun, 2026  Carmel's Phoenix She did it very well, she took us by surprise,. She does jump well but she still shows a bit of greenness. She got all the allowances, she was getting 15lb off JP’s filly there. Where we go next, we don’t know. We might look at a novice hurdle in Galway for her. She’s a good filly, the boys gave her loads of time — John and Pat. Tom gave her a great ride, he rides her out every day. She gives him plenty of hardship every day and he deserved to win on her today. We didn’t think we were going to be coming up here with her but there is a break in national hunt racing coming up and there is no maiden hurdle for about three weeks. We said we’d fire her in here and it would be a good experience for her, it worked out great for us. She got left in front far enough out and then at the last two hurdles she was running around a little bit due to greenness. She’s a good filly and if we can keep her sound the boys will knock good craic out of her.

Limerick Wed, 10th Jun, 2026  Unfamiliar She is a grand filly and like my earlier winner, I've been waiting for soft ground for her. I knew the ground had been too quick for her so was waiting to see what she'd do on soft. Chris (Hayes) said she saw out the trip well but that she was pulling herself up. My father (Kevin senior) owns this filly and I have 10 horses at the moment but, unfortunately, I don't really have any paying owners as they are home-owned. Both Peadar (Kelly, owner of earlier winner Java Wood) and my dad are my two owners so I'd love to get more but it is very hard to attract new ones. To be honest, I just don't know what to do or how to get new owners. I'm based in Kilmessan, Co Meath.
