Permission was given for Quantock Hills (FR) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving, Quantock Hills (FR), placed fifth, ridden by Paul O’Brien; Mythical Moon (GB), placed second, ridden by Brendan Powell; St Pancras (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Kevin Brogan and Hms President (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Tom Cannon.
Harry Cobden the rider of Sorceleur (FR), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
O’Brien was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right- handed when insufficiently clear, taking Mythical Moon (GB) off its intended line, which resulted in the rider of St Pancras (GB) having to take a check having become short of room between Mythical Moon (GB) and Hms President (IRE) who was tight for room against the rail.
Following the race, Gavin Sheehan reported that Marche D'aligre (FR), unplaced, made a mistake jumping the first hurdle; Jack Hogan reported that John Barbour (GB), unplaced, made a mistake jumping the second last hurdle and the Veterinary Officer reported that Wolf Moon (GB), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
