uk HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Latin (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Elouise's Prince (IRE), ridden by Jude Fernandes; Nordic Norm (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Jonny Peate and Latin (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Elouise's Prince (IRE) stepped left-handed taking Nordic Norm (GB) slightly off its intended line, which in turn caused Latin (IRE) to be momentarily short of room and Morris having to take a check.
The winner Elouise's Prince (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 31 January 2026 where the gelding finished seventh of eight runners beaten by 4 ¼ lengths.
Luke Dace’s explanation that on its penultimate outing ELOUISE’S PRINCE (IRE)’s blindfold was slow to be removed losing ground at the start.
He added that on the gelding’s previous start he suffered interference on the run to the line to be beaten 4 ¼ lengths, those previous explanations combined with ELOUISE’S PRINCE (IRE) benefitting from a step up in trip on this occasion from 7 furlongs to a mile, was noted.
ELOUISE’S PRINCE (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Tyler Heard reported that Kingkeer (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
