A.P. Kelly, rider of Daring Move, trained by Norman Lee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got hampered at the start and ran out at the second hurdle. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the running out of Daring Move and in the circumstances were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards interviewed John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Ben Purple, concerning the conduct of his charge who misbehaved at the start after the flag was dropped, kicked out and caused interference to other runners before jumping the first hurdle and pulling up. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he was extremely disappointed with the behaviour of his charge today, who is well mannered at home. He further stated that the sun and high temperatures may have been the cause. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards suspended Ben Purple from running for 60 days in accordance with Rule 14(iii) as it was the animals third behavioural offence
J. Coen, rider of Kazbek, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got hampered at the start.
