Permission was given for Emeralds Pride (GB) and Good Earth (IRE) to go early to post and for Smart Vision (GB), Winchurch (IRE) and Tees Aggregates (IRE) to go early to post wearing red hoods.
Approaching the final furlong, Spirit Of Applause (GB), placed fifth, lugged quickly right-handed despite its rider’s best efforts to keep the gelding straight, causing Frank The Spark (GB), unplaced, to become crowded for room and its rider having to take a precautionary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Spirit Of Applause (GB).
Approaching the line, Zarzyni (IRE), placed second, edged marginally left-handed at the same time as Emeralds Pride (GB), placed third, improved into a legitimate gap, causing the gelding to be taken off its intended line which in turn carried Sevensees (GB) off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Zarzyni (IRE).
Following the race, Jason Hart reported that Emeralds Pride (GB), placed third, was denied a clear run on a couple of occasions from a furlong out.
Connor Planas reported that Good Earth (IRE), unplaced, was restless in the stalls resulting in the gelding being slowly away.
