Permission was given for Better (IRE) to go early to post.
Birdie Bowers (IRE), drawn 2, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Approaching the final furlong, Golden Rainbow (GB), placed second, lugged right-handed, taking the winner, Sergeant Mayer (IRE), off its intended line, which in turn caused the rider of Northerner (IRE), unplaced, to become crowded for room and have to ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of Golden Rainbow (GB).
Shortly after, Golden Rainbow (GB), placed second, continued to hang further right-handed despite the riders best efforts, causing the winner, Sergeant Mayer (IRE) to be drifted marginally off its intended line, which in turn caused the rider of Dunnington Lad (IRE), unplaced, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of Golden Rainbow (GB).
Following the race, Ben Robinson reported that Northerner (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approaching the final furlong.
