Fairyhouse Fri, 12th Jun, 2026  Dervo Annie We were delighted with Down Royal. She’s improved a lot from her two-year-old days. Andrew Lynch rides her all her work. We thought we were going with a bit of a chance (last time) as it was three-year-old only, it’s hard to get those handicaps. Colin said after Down Royal that we could drop her back if we wanted. The man that owns her, Joe Dervan, is local, from Ashbourne. It’s his first runner in these colours. She just bumped into one on the day last time. Colin said she’s still babyish and learning her trade. She was still little bit green at the finish. He wanted something to aim at rather than being in front and having the older horses coming at her. He gave her a super ride, as usual. She loves good ground, six or seven. She’s had her win now so that’s great and we’ll enjoy today.

Navan Sun, 7th Jun, 2026  Happy Henry I was giving out about Leigh a furlong down, he was being held up, but sure it is the way he finished. He loves that stiff five (furlongs) here. He has run well every time he has ran here. We reared him and he has been on the farm a long time, and he has owed us that. We have been persistent. I had him in a claimer and I took him out because I said he will win one, and I didn't want to lose him. He's a big, strong boy and he is only learning his trade now. I just thought with the blinkers, the minute he didn't see a horse, he stopped. He rocketed home, so I am going to keep the cheekpieces!

Funny, Oisin McSweeney said to me that he's better from behind. Colin (Keane) said to me that Siobhan (Rutledge, Bye Bye Now) will probably go to the front and that he would track her. He will (travel again) and he might even run on the grass. He's a well-handicapped horse really. A fine, big horse by BungleInthejungle and I've had a bit of luck with them.
