Permission was given for Realta Liath (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference after jumping the final hurdle, involving Come On Nia (GB), placed second, ridden by Jay Tidball and Two Fingers West (IRE), placed third, ridden by Ciaran Gethings.
Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the incident, the Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Come On Nia (GB), as the mare had gone on from Two Fingers West (IRE) having jumped the last hurdle, before moving left- handed towards the rail.
In doing so, Two Fingers West (IRE) was taken of its racing line, and was eventually switched right-handed around heels, before closing marginally in the final strides to be beaten ¾ length at the line.
The Stewards considered that Two Fingers West (IRE) had lost little momentum during the interference, which was minor in nature and therefore could not be satisfied on the balance of probabilities, that if allowed a clear run to the line, the mare would have finished in front of Come On Nia (GB).
Tidball was suspended for 2 days for careless riding, as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, resulting in the aforementioned interference to Two Fingers West (IRE).
On the approach to the final flight of hurdles, Two Fingers West (IRE), placed third, edged left- handed, away from the whip before being quickly corrected, which resulted in the winner, Crazierthandaisy (GB) having to be switched right-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Adam Wedge reported that Scene Stealer (IRE), which was pulled up, hung right- handed in the early stages of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that Flyover (IRE), which was pulled up, lost its left-hind shoe.
