The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two and a half furlongs out involving Figaruso, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, placed first, and Pachmena, ridden by R. Whearty, placed third, where it appeared R

Whearty had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. Whearty stated that he was in the gap and had to take a check as Figaruso edged back across to the rail. M.P. Sheehy stated that his mount ran off the bend and he gradually brought him back towards the rail and was unaware of Pachmena on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found M.P. Sheehy was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
