After race at Listowel Mon, 21st Sep, 2026 (1st)  Canon Law is improving all the time, which is absolutely great, and we are very excited by him. He keeps turning up, although I thought he didn’t deserve to be penalised (12lb) for running his heart out in a Galway apprentice race on heavy ground the last day: I thought that was a bit OTT. He is as genuine as gold and you won’t see the best of him until he jumps hurdles. He has no hang-ups, doesn’t need any counselling or anything. He lives a quiet life, comes to the races and thank God for him. Brendan W Duke

After race at Sligo Wed, 5th Aug, 2026 (1st)  It's great to be here on an autumn evening in Sligo, under the shadow of Ben Bulben. I read Yeats' poetry for my Leaving Cert, and that wasn't today or yesterday!. We were a long time in the wilderness, either with horses who just lacked ability or were out of form, but they're really well at the moment. It's great for the lads in the yard, my owners and my wife Shirley. I said to her a couple of weeks ago that I thought I'd have four winners in a fortnight, and she told me to lie down and that she'd call the doctor. These owners are great, they have six horses with me. Three of them have now won, and I think the other three are capable of winning as well. This horse had been running well. It was a bit quick for him the last day at Cork and he appreciated the easier ground today. Brendan W Duke
