THE BetMGM SPRING CUP STAKES (CLASS 1) (Listed Race) Permission was given for Sir Albert (IRE), Star Strewn (IRE), Shahik (GB) and Hilitany (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the final furlong when Sir Albert (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Jason Watson interfered with Star Strewn (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Callum Shepherd.
Watson was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left- handed without sufficient correction causing Shepherd to take a check.
Following the race, Hector Crouch reported that RICHIE’S ROCKET (IRE), placed fourth, reared as the stalls opened with the colt being slowly away as a result.
Callum Shepherd reported that Star Strewn (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference inside the final furlong.
