Permission was given for Karton Plein (FR) to wear a red hood to post.
Upon rounding the home bend, the winner, Pure Gold (GB) and Johnny Ringo (GB), placed fourth, ran onto the heels of a retreating Fia Fuinidh (IRE), unplaced, causing that runner to shift left-handed and for Johnny Ringo (GB) to clip the heel of Whispering Hopes (IRE), which later fell, and stumble, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference after jumping the final flight involving Inneston (FR), placed third, ridden by Miss Roisin Leech and Johnny Ringo (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Alan Doyle.
As a 7lb claiming amateur, Miss Leech was accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA Jockey Coach.
Miss Leech was cautioned for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift left-handed without correction, causing Doyle to take a slight check on his mount.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Johnny Ringo (GB), placed fourth, was found to be lame on its left-fore.
