It's good to win with him again. Sorcha was very good on him. I thought he'd gone a little bit moody and wasn't finishing out his races. She lights then up a bit, so we gave her a go on him. She's in with us a few mornings a week so it's great that she rode the winner. It was a very messy race, one minute 15 and change for good class sprinters.

He jumped well and was where I wanted to be. I got a gap after coming around the bend and he quickened up well. It was some buzz!. I'm from Abbeyfeale, County Limerick and my father always had mares and a few horses at home. Joe is with me about six months. He’s been kind of disappointing to be honest,. We were down in the bottom barrel this evening, and he had a light weight with the jockey claiming off him. It just went well and it was very good, he said that he enjoyed the ground. Maybe turning helped him, as his wind wouldn’t be great. He had an operation as a young horse. I went to do his wind, but realised he had an operation before, so we couldn’t do it. I think turning might have assisted him, kept him interested a bit longer. We were in a straight line all year. He ran quite well at Navan last time and he was probably over-priced at 22/1. All the lads had a few quid on him. I wouldn’t have backed him!

He had run over every trip but the trainer eventually got it! Physically he is quite sharp, but mentally he wasn't. We started him off over the six (furlongs), and you couldn't say he didn't stay the seven because he was only beaten a nose and a head. We have a few(horses) that are alright. The few owners I have are very good. Very loyal. He was second over a mile-and-a-half, I think he was twice over a mile-and-a-half. Twice over a mile-and-two. A mile, seven(furlongs); the dam was the same. No one ever told me they had loads of speed. I just put the blinkers on him one morning and they seemed to light him up and stayed straight. I'd say Sam (Coen) is cursing me because he would have been riding this horse, so it is his loss but Reese's gain. They are two great lads and the title race is going down to the wire. Sam has ridden a lot of winners for me over the past couple of years and a good result would be a draw!. this horse had gone 15 runs without a win, and I won't tell you what I was saying about the handicapper! He gave him 1lb for finishing third at the Curragh last week so that’s why we are back today, as he was going up to 61 and out of this (0-60) grade. I was sort of forced to run as it is great to have him in this grade. He has run a blinder, needed the 5lb (Holohan’s claim) off and when these types of horses get into this grade, it is easier for them. He came home well on ground he wouldn't love and is far better on fast ground. He has a higher rating on the all-weather, so we'll see.
