Formscan - PUSH THE BOAT OUT heads the shortlist after he gamely won the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh. Bearing in mind the runner-up in that race won the Coventry at Royal Ascot, Michael O'Callaghan's unbeaten colt has solid credentials, despite stepping up in grade. Inner City Blues also boasts an unblemished record and must be feared with his yard chasing a third consecutive winner in this race. He cosily held his two rivals when winning the July Stakes at Newmarket. His winning form over 6f makes him more of a danger than the Norfolk Stakes winner, Orthodox, who was well beaten on his first try over this trip in the Prix Morny at Deauville last month.

He had a very good run first time, with the form of the race working out well, so Aidan pitched him in the Gimcrack. He was very keen and did everything wrong at York, so we put a line through that and this race worked out lovely and gave him confidence. Wayne said he has a lot of pace and coming back to five (furlongs) would be no problem to him. He has shown a lot of potential at home and is lovely looking. It wouldn't surprise me if he pitched up in the (Group 1) Middle Park Stakes as he is a horse of potential. He can boogie.

When they win a maiden first time out, they have to jump up to this level. Little bit of greenness there during the middle part of the race. He came off it early, but Seamie got him rolling from halfway. Seamie was very complimentary of him, he said he was a racehorse. We'll get him home and see how he is, but he said he's still a little bit weak. He said he feels like a miler next year. Obviously, he's unbeaten, he's won his Group race and he's beaten the Coventry winner. Seamie mentioned Newmarket, so we'll get him home and let the dust settle. We'll enjoy today.
