it’s a first horse for these owners so I’m after spoiling them, as they’ve won a point-to-point and now a race at Punchestown. She’s been consistent without getting her head in front but her run in Limerick I thought put her right in the picture today. She stays well and the extra few furlongs today was a big help to her and she will get three miles. She jumps well and can jump a fence in time.

She struggled in Naas the last day and Phillip just pulled her up in time. He said that was the saving of her today. He looked after her. She needs nice ground and she put up a nice performance there. From a long way out I thought she was travelling and jumping very well, she was really enjoying it. It was an ordinary race she won in Clonmel and we were a bit disappointed in Naas but in fairness Phillip said ‘don’t worry about it’ as she needs a bit of nice ground. I have to give him the credit. I might go to Fairyhouse with her, there is a three-mile novice handicap there and she might get into that now. She hasn’t ran that often. That’s only her fourth run over hurdles and she’s won two races now.

we were hoping she'd run well but I was a bit worried when the rain came last night. She has been running well all year and Danny gave her a lovely ride today. She is fairly straightforward, makes the running and goes along at her own gallop. She is very tough and tries hard. She is still quite well handicapped on the Flat and is a great fun mare. Jody gets on with her, whatever it is. The lads (sons), Danny and Jack, have ridden her and she doesn’t go as well for them as she does for Jody. She’ll probably stay on her now, but where we’ll go with her I don’t know. It’s brilliant for her to break her maiden here and she won well. The fact that she’s owned by Natalie, my wife, makes it ever better. I went to Down Royal with her last Friday week and I think the journey up was a problem. She didn’t enjoy Down Royal at all, but the fact that here was so close and handy, I said I’d bring her. In these low grade races, you don’t know what day they’ll turn up and win. This is every bit as good as winning the Blazers for us.
