Cork Thu, 19th Mar, 2026  Mystic Malina She struggled in Naas the last day and Phillip just pulled her up in time. He said that was the saving of her today. He looked after her. She needs nice ground and she put up a nice performance there. From a long way out I thought she was travelling and jumping very well, she was really enjoying it. It was an ordinary race she won in Clonmel and we were a bit disappointed in Naas but in fairness Phillip said ‘don’t worry about it’ as she needs a bit of nice ground. I have to give him the credit. I might go to Fairyhouse with her, there is a three-mile novice handicap there and she might get into that now. She hasn’t ran that often. That’s only her fourth run over hurdles and she’s won two races now.

Wexford Tue, 17th Mar, 2026  Connemara Shore Phillip Enright had a lot of work done with her. We put cheekpieces on her the last day and she travelled better. She unseated at Navan one day and she just doesn't watch what she is doing, she is very genuine but is too busy watching everyone else's business. Phillip rang me during the week about putting blinkers on her. She travelled everywhere today and the blinkers done there job. It's just a pity Phillip wasn't here today but he had to go to the north. Fair play to her owners, I told them to stick with her, that she just needed time.

Clonmel Thu, 26th Feb, 2026  Fenway Park It was nice for him to do something, but it was a fairly weak contest. He hadn't been putting it in in chases recently so at least when others came to him today, he did enough to win and stuck his head down and battled. He has been a bit disappointing, but we got today out of him and he is cheap now (at €10,000) that he has won a race. The syndicate is a hab dash of people from all over and half were included in I'm A Game Changer, who won a graded race.

Navan Sun, 8th Feb, 2026  Oscars Brother it was a brilliant performance and was nice to get it out of the way. He loved the ground, had the ears pricked the whole way and it looked like he could have gone around again. He's a very easy horse to ride so I just leave it up to Dan. He just likes to do his own thing but, if someone wanted to give us a lead, we would have been happy enough. He seems to be taking racing well, is improving and he jumped great. after the last day, we had this race pencilled in and I suppose we can make more plans now. He takes his racing well, so we will see how he is during the week and go from there. The timing of the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham would be good. He keeps improving, so you never know where he could end up.

Someone was sure (she'd win) but it wasn't me who backed her. I told Harry to tip away and to keep an eye on the favourite (Justatan) as I thought he was the one to beat. It worked out well. My brother Matt bred her and she is owned by a local publican Anthony Smart from Ballincurrig. The family goes back years for us, as long as I can remember and back to the 1970s. My father and John Magnier had the base mare Even More between them. I don't know how many steps she goes back but it is a long time ago.

Punchestown Sat, 22nd Nov, 2025  Oscars Brother We’ve always liked him. He did well over hurdles, and we always hoped he’d be a better chaser. I’ve been keeping my eye on this race for a long time. I remember there was only three runners in it last year and thinking it would be a nice race to aim for. He’s had a month in between each run over fences which has been ideal. He’s a very straightforward horse and we like to ride him positively. I think he jumped better the last day, but he got the job done. It’s disappointing for us that they have got rid of the three mile novice chase at Leopardstown. Limerick is 2m5f and it will probably be heavy ground so that might suit him, and we could travel as well. Staying races is his thing and there is plenty to look forward to. I still think there is loads left in him and he’s always fresh after his races. I don’t think we have got to the bottom of him.

Thurles Thu, 20th Nov, 2025  William Tell He goes well and point-to-pointing didn't really suit him, although he was unlucky not to win the first day. He was impressive in Cork, we gave him a break and came back here. On work Nelson Muntz (stablemate, third) is better but the winner is a fair horse who also has a lot of boot and isn't slow. He is a promising horse and will interesting going forwards. He is a fine big horse so going over fences will be his thing although we'll keep him to hurdling this season if he isn't sold. We'll see what the handicapper does. Nelson Muntz ran alright but caught further back than he wanted and Sean (Flanagan, jockey) said he was sluggish early on in the race.

Navan Sun, 16th Nov, 2025  Paddy's Milestone He was fresh and well, obviously. He was fairly straight there. We aimed him for Down Royal last year, he won it well. A few wee niggly problems last season and didn't get him out again. He has come in a stronger horse this year. We would have run him last week in Fairyhouse if it had been on. Probably there today, on heavy ground, you are encouraged to go with a bottom-weight rather than a top-weight. It was an unknown whether he would handle ground as testing as that, but I'd say it wasn't an issue for him. If he comes out of it alright, something in a month's time. If that ends up being at Christmas, so be it. He's hopefully going to still have a mark that gives him a chance again. We have plenty in, we have a good squad of three-year-olds for next season so that is kind of the main focus. Few older ones to run here over the next six weeks or so.

Naas Sun, 9th Nov, 2025  Shadys Lady she wasn’t in long enough when we entered her in Roscommon and we kind of got roped into running because it looked like a very weak race. A mile-and-seven furlongs racing on good around Roscommon is sharp and she just doesn’t have the speed. She stays. If she produced her form from here in March (when finishing second to smart mare Switch From Diesel) she’d win, so I was delighted. Neil O’Mahony was my first owner eight years ago and has been with me through thick and thin, so it’s great to get another winner for him. She’ll probably go for a maiden hurdle now.
