She did it the hard way and the mare in second is a decent mare and we were giving her 10lbs. I thought we had shaken her off until she came back at us again, so I'm delighted and she has done nothing wrong through the summer. I'll discuss it with the owner but we might give her a little break now; she'll go on soft but we ran her on winter ground at Clonmel last January and she couldn't walk on it. She loved summer soft at Bellewstown. She is adaptable and could go further but today's trip (2m4f) is getting closer to her ideal trip. Henry De Bromhead, trainer

The Stewards received a report from Ms. Joan Taylor, IHRB Veterinary Officer, regarding the condition of a horse which was brought to her attention in the stableyard car park. Evidence was heard from Ms. Taylor, Mr. Frank Clune, IHRB Stableyard Security and from Mr. Robert Murphy, trainer and owner of the horse. Mr. Clune reported that an unattended horse in the car park had been brought to his attention which he reported to the Veterinary Officer. Ms. Taylor reported that this horse had been left unattended in a trailer in the car park for some time and had begun weaving, sweating and become distressed. The Veterinary Officer ordered that the horse be unloaded, washed down and placed in an isolation stable. Mr. Murphy stated that this horse was a companion horse for his only runner today. He brought his runner into the stable yard and left the companion horse in the charge of his assistant who was helping him today. Unfortunately his assistant left the horse unattended to go to get something to eat and the horse became upset while he was away. Having considered the evidence, including footage of the horse in the trailer, the Stewards found Mr. Murphy in breach of Rule 272(i) and Rule 148(i) and having taken his good record into account, imposed a fine of €500 on the trainer.
