Persist (GB) and In These Shoes (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start and permission was given for Value Added (GB), Therapist (GB) and Never Ending (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Having reviewed the start, the Stewards were satisfied that Decoration (IRE), ridden by David Egan, was mounted as the start was effected and that Decoration (IRE) had stumbled shortly after leaving the stalls, unseating Egan and the filly was therefore deemed to be a runner.
Following the race, Tom Marquand reported that Persist (GB), placed second, was slowly away.
William Cox reported that Therapist (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly and the representative of Andrew Balding reported that the filly was unsuited by the Going, which was described as Heavy, Soft in places and that the filly would prefer a quicker surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Therapist (GB) revealed that the filly had an irregular heartbeat.
