She was all wrong in Bellewstown, she had a problem with tying up and it took us a while to get her right,. We were fairly happy she was right as she did a couple of really good bits of work recently. We were quietly optimistic of a big run. Conor Maxwell had been riding her work and said she was full of speed. He thought she wanted five or six but looking at today she probably needed every bit of the six. I'd say her trip is a stiff five or an easy six like that. We'll tip away with her. Pedigree wise a lot of them handled slower ground but we worked her in Skryne on the soft and she struggled to finish it out. We took her up to Dundalk and she was very good there. J.A. Powell, rider of Freedom Falls, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped leaving the starting stalls

N.M. Crosse, rider of Blanc De Noir, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned left in the straight

M. Mjoka, rider of Californiagoldrush, trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran free and green in this race

The Raceday Stewards interviewed M. Mjoka, rider of Californiagoldrush, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, M. Mjoka stated that he is still familiarising himself with the whip rules but also accepted he had breached the whip rule in relation to time to respond and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were were of the opinion M.Mjoka was in breach of R10.3(i) by failing to give his mount at least three strides to respond. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned M.Mjoka on this occasion

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from T.G.McCourt, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Charming Lady, placed first, as compared with its recent run when finishing last runners of six at Bellewstown on the 6th of April. T. G. McCourt stated that his charge had been disappointing recently and has switched his charge to a low protein feed which he felt has helped improve the horse. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
