He parks when he gets to the front. He’s a fine horse and the last day left him right. He will go to the Champions Weekend (Bold Lad Handicap) now because it is the obvious race, but he's not good enough at three for that sort of competition. We were always training him to be that sort of horse for his owner at four and five. You can see him physically growing. He's not ready for the 'big-time' yet. He'd have to (be ready) at four with a rating like that. You don't have to over-face him this year and these types of races will suit him. If he didn't go to Champions Weekend, there's a 100 (grade) race back here and he would probably go there. I’m delighted for the owners. G M Lyons, trainer

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Amiata, ridden by C.T

Keane, placed first, and By The Lake, ridden by S Foley, placed second, where it appeared contact was made

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.T. Keane stated that his mount went left under pressure and felt he had corrected his mount immediately. S. Foley stated that he received a bump which may have cost him some ground. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action

C.T. Keane, rider of Amiata, trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount went left under pressure

S. Foley, rider of By The Lake, trained by Derek McCormack, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump and was intimidated late on.
