Naas Wed, 24th Jun, 2026  Platino Bianco coming back to a straight track on fast ground was the key today as she doesn’t gallop around a bend. I thought if she bounced right and got a bit of room, she’d have a chance. It’s a stiff five here and she wants every bit of six. They went hard and she ground it out to the line. She’s one for England all day but it’s the expense of going over there, so it’s nice that it happened today. I’ll keep her to a straight track if I can get them, it’s easier to find those options for her in Ireland.

Ascot Sat, 20th Jun, 2026  Almeraq This horse and him both took horror falls at the back end of last year, Jim’s fighting for his career, he should be aboard this horse, it’s his (ride). For Jim, this is as hard as it gets, missing Group Ones. It’s great to have him here and hopefully he can find a bit of pleasure seeing this lad get up off the ground and win a big one. It was a great race, I was so busy watching both of them (his runners) because Lake Forest was coming from the back and I thought Almeraq was gone as he was off the bridle halfway. He obviously stayed on very well. I’m very sorry for the Japanese horse, it’d have been lovely to have had a Japanese winner. It’s terrific that they come across the world to race here and support our biggest meeting, I’m delighted to beat them but long may it continue. He had a fall at York last year where poor Jim got injured along with another jockey (Trevor Whelan), he took a long time to come back and it’s been gently gently this spring. He won nicely at Salisbury, but this was a complete jump in class and he’s coped with it nicely. I would think the (July Cup) would be the natural step, for sure. May I say how thrilled I am for Shadwell, I’ve been involved with them for some time. It’s very difficult here, it’s hard for everyone who is trying to compete.

Leopardstown Thu, 4th Jun, 2026  Daler Of all the horses coming tonight, I would have said he won't handle the soft,. I said to Gary 'have we ever ran him on soft' cause it's always been Dundalk and better ground. It's great. It's like everything in racing, you see yards can't do right for doing wrong and, next thing, I don't know what it is but we'll make the most of it.

Curragh Wed, 3rd Jun, 2026  Amiata He’s a fun horse. He loves that up and down in that company. Penalties will stop him a couple of times and when the handicapper is kind to him he’ll do that. He’s for a lovely owner, who isn’t here tonight. He had three entries tonight, one was taken out. The two-year-old (La Tache) ran well, doing it all wrong, and then this lad won for him. He’s a good, fun, horse to have while the two-year-olds are growing up. Philip and Norma Richards are Welsh but they live in the Isle Of Man.

Fairyhouse Thu, 28th May, 2026  Fortuity She had a nice first run. Shane was nice and positive on her, and I’d say that was important. When she got to the front, she was game. She has a nice pedigree, she’s a half-sister to Phoenix Of Spain. She’s shown a level of ability and it was important to get her to win. Her owner Michael Drapac was actually over from Australia at the weekend and he had Punica Granatum beaten a short-head at the Curragh, so it’s nice to get her to win. We’ll regroup and see what the handicapper does. She’s improved off her first run, and maybe there is a little bit more in there. Richie Galway, representing

Wexford Sat, 16th May, 2026  Gamigin he likes the small, handy tracks, he is what he is and it wasn’t the strongest race in the world. He’s a wee summer ground horse, he’s back to himself now and ran a nice race today. The cut in the ground probably helped too. He’s a grand horse, has won plenty of races in that grade and has been a good servant. We’ll pick something similar and hopefully the handicapper is realistic and isn’t too sore on him.

Leopardstown Sun, 10th May, 2026  Darius Dark He’s a big backward fella. Ben said he was on and off the bridle and he was still green. He’s a bit of a work in progress. He stays a mile-and-a-half well and it was good to see him perform on that kind of ground as well. It was a very competitive race; there were a lot of fancied horses in it. He has come on from his last run. The last run really zoned him in and hopefully he can keep progressing through the ranks.

Gowran Park Tue, 5th May, 2026  Dark Lucinda She’s a nice filly. She worked well the other day and I thought she’d run a good race,. I was keen to come for this race because she’s in the Gowran Classic in three weeks and that’ll be where she goes. The connections, Ballylinch, are obviously local as well.

He’ll go up and down the handicap and win his races during the season, which he’s done today. The handicapper will grab him, and then we’ll have to keep running him to get him back down to the mark and let him win again. He’s not slow and the five has sharpened him up. He was a precocious two-year-old but clueless. These are the type of horses that you are trying to latch on to, so that they grow into four and five-year-old competitive sprinters. They are nice ones to have, they are hard to get so hopefully we’ll keep him on the team.

Cork Fri, 24th Apr, 2026  Darius Dark I am pleasantly surprised as he is a big horse, so I thought it would be a slow process with him. Rory said that when they quickened today he got outpaced, but going that 1m4f distance really suits. He is by Dark Angel, but there is stamina on the dam-sire and Pat Colville (Newtown Anner Stud's racing manager) reminded me that he is from a good family.
