This is the first horse to run in these colours and Anthony Rogers and my wife Ber have him between them and are hoping to raise more funds for Cancer Trials - Pat Smullen's set-up. I put up a year's training fee last year and we had a horse, but it didn't work out. In fairness to Anthony Rogers, of Airlie Stud, he came to me and said he had this horse with Willie (McCreery) which would suit. I'm delighted for them and all this prize money goes to the Trials. Ryan is a very very good rider, is with me full-time and is very strong and it would be great to get another winner to get his claim down as that's nearly his lowest weight. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. A. O'Keeffe, that S.E. McCarthy, rider of Reddiac, had presented herself to weigh out at three pounds overweight, none of which had been declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards granted permission for S. E. McCarthy to take the mount aboard Reddiac and allowed the overweight owing to exceptional circumstances and they took no further action

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blue Raven, trained by Paul Stafford, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis

Sam Ewing, rider of Harbanaker trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met trouble in running

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Harbanaker, ridden by Sam Ewing, unplaced and Autumn Mist, ridden by T.P. Madden, unplaced, where it appeared that Harbanaker had to check off heels

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

At the request of the Stewards, R.P. Whelan, rider of Dance Emperor, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away.

An extended handicap for four years old and upwards rated 45-65
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
