Permission was given for both Crackinthunder (GB) and Azucena (IRE) to go early to post and for Zaphea (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Approaching the final furlong, Zaphea (IRE), unplaced, shifted left-handed at the same time as Beerwah (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed causing both Mrs Bagerran (IRE), unplaced, and Sir Benedict (IRE), placed second, to become crowded for room and both riders to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Beerwah (IRE).
Following the race, Amie Waugh reported that Mrs Bagerran (IRE), unplaced, slipped leaving the stalls and she felt that there may be something amiss with the mare thereafter.
