Permission was given for Hilltop (GB) and Holy Fire (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference on the run to the first bend, involving Exposay (GB), unplaced, ridden by Rowan Scott, Quandary (GB), unplaced, ridden by Archie Young and Electric Avenue (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Tom Eaves.
The first incident was found to be accidental as Exposay (GB) and Quandary (GB), having broken level, made slight contact on the run to the bend causing both horses to become unbalanced.
The second incident, shortly after, was also found to be accidental as Electric Avenue (GB) shifted very slightly left-handed going into the first bend causing an already unbalanced Exposay (GB) to move left-handed leaving Quandary (GB) tight for room and resulting in Young having to take a check against the rail.
The winner, Enola Grey (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at SOUTHWELL on 12 December 2025, where the mare finished fifth of six runners, beaten by 7 ¾ lengths.
The explanation given by Gemma Tutty's representative that Enola Grey (IRE) benefitted from a return to Wolverhampton and appreciated the strong gallop on this occasion, was noted.
Enola Grey (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Hilltop (GB), unplaced, had no more to give.
