Leaving the stalls, If I Could Dream (GB), placed third, jumped left-handed at the same time as Yy Nation (IRE), unplaced, jumped right-handed, resulting in both Illy's Roo (IRE), placed fifth, and Come On Over (IRE), unplaced, initially receiving a bump and then losing their positions, when becoming crowded for racing room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of If I Could Dream (GB).
The winner, King Of Thunder (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newbury, on 20 September 2025, where the gelding finished twelfth of thirteen runners, beaten by a distance of 20 lengths.
Hugo Palmer’s representative’s explanation that King Of Thunder (GB) had benefited from being gelded was noted and King Of Thunder (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of Territorial Star (GB), which finished ninth of eleven runners, beaten by a distance of 10¾ lengths, was considered.
The representative of Stella Barclay’s explanation that the filly ran too freely on the step up in trip to 7 furlongs, was noted.
Following the race, Jack Callan reported that March Ahead (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed.
