Permission was given for Beylerbeyi (GB) to wear a red hood to post, and for Sportingsilvermine (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Beylerbeyi (GB) arrived at the start with a small amount of blood in its mouth.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when the winner, Paddy The Squire (GB), ridden by Andrew Mullen interfered with Defiance (IRE), placed second, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa.
Mullen was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without correction causing De Sousa to ease slightly.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Faylaq (GB), which was pulled up, was lame on its left- fore.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding why the screens were not deployed 360 degrees around Faylaq (GB), which pulled up lame.
The Clerk of the Course, the Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons and the Head Groundsman were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
After hearing the evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horse Racing Authority for further consideration.
