Permission was given for Shamacid (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Tom Queally the rider of Edward Sexton (IRE), which finished seventh of eight runners, beaten 11½ lengths, was asked to explain his riding in the home straight.
The Stewards interviewed Queally and viewed recordings of the race.
Queally stated his instructions were to jump out, attain a good position and finish the race off by obtaining the best placing possible.
Queally went on to explain that having jumped on terms he was able to race in mid division however as the pace quickened leaving the back straight and again on turning into the home straight, he felt that the gelding had become outpaced on both occasions.
Queally explained that having used the whip on one occasion turning in, he elected to ride his mount hands and heels to the line with the gelding never making up any ground over the final two furlongs and felt that Edward Sexton (IRE) might benefit from a step up in trip on its next outing.
His explanation was noted.
