The Raceday Stewards received a report from the IHRB Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that S. Coen, rider of Drucker (USA), presented himself to weigh out at 2lbs overweight, which had been declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he initially thought he could make the allocated weight but arriving at the racetrack he was unable to reach the weight required and apologised. The trainers Representative reported that he was happy for S. Coen to retain the ride. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that S. Coen was in breach of Rule 198 (vii)(a) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended S. Coen for two racedays
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Andrew Slattery, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Drucker (USA), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Dundalk on 26th of November. Francis Slattery, Authorised Representative for trainer Andrew Slattery reported that his charge didn't act in the first time visor the last day and that leaving it off today may have contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given
K.G. Kennedy, rider of Stonking (GB), trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost action turning in
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Glamorous Marlene, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount's action shortened
R.P. Whelan, rider of Urban War, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight
Reese Holohan, rider of Captain Hanley, trained by Eamonn O'Connell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout
