Killarney Mon, 5th Oct, 2026  Jasmine Affanalis She likes this place as she had previously run here three times and finished second each run,. James Gormley, a friend of mine in Dubai, and his family bred her and they've had fun (being involved in the A Touch Of Leather Syndicate) with her. She is good in that grade. I'm delighted for Sam, who we've known since before he was a jockey and I'm glad to help him in the apprentice jockeys' title. I must say, and in fairness to Sam, that he had only a small saddle claiming off top-weight today, so it would be a big achievement if he were to become champion. It would be remarkable to win it by not being a lightweight, and he is a very talented rider.

Down Royal Fri, 4th Sep, 2026  Dancing Steve I thought Andy (Oliver) had it stolen (with Connecteo), I was standing watching it with him,. We were drawn wide and I did tell Sam to drop this one in, he just about gets the trip, but he needs to be put asleep very early on. He did exactly what he was told. I told him he better bring me to the party if he wins it (apprentice title)!. In all fairness to him, he is a very good kid, and it was a very good ride. I had the option of going to Navan tomorrow, and then I saw this race was splitting and I thought we would chance here. In all fairness, it was a good decision. It was going to end up being less competitive here than a 23/24 runner race around Navan. That's the way you have got to work these horses - you've got to try and give them the best chance to get a win.
