If any horse ever deserved to win a stakes race it was her, although you don't always get what you deserve. She met a bit of trouble in-running but hit the line strong and while it was a head-bobber, she had previously come out the wrong side of a few tight finishes in her career. We had been campaigning her aggressively to try and win a stakes race and while she built a load of black-type, to win a group race is great. I'd say it will be a career-best on the figures and I thought she won the hard way. She is a group winner now so it is job done although we might look to win another one now.

McDonogh, Queen Of Thunder, ridden by C.D. Hayes, Celestial Orbit (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, Chantez, ridden by J. Kearney, and Fingerpaint (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane where it appeared several horses had to check
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.P. McDonogh said he was the cause of the incident as he wanted to race towards the stand rail and though he was clear. C.D. Hayes said he had to check and clipped a heel. J.A
Heffernan said there was conjestion ahead of him so he had to check. J. Kearney said he received pressure from his left which carried him wide. C.T. Keane said he received a bump from his left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found D.P. McDonogh was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for seven racedays. In arriving at their decision the Raceday Stewards acknowledged the honesty of D.P. McDonagh's evidence but in the circumstances as four riders suffered interference as a result of his riding, they felt a sanction higher than the guidelines was appropriate on this occasion

C.D. Hayes, rider of Queen Of Thunder, trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount clipped a heel turning in
C.T. Keane, rider of Fingerpaint (GB), trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room.
