Permission was given for PAPA DON’T PREACH (IRE) to go early to post.
As the start was effected, Cast No Shadow (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed moving PAPA DON’T PREACH (IRE), placed fifth, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings between the second and fourth placed horses in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Twilight Madness (GB), placed second, ridden by Taryn Langley, Level Up (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Jack Dace and Thecoffeepoddotco (GB), placed third, ridden by Alec Voikhansky.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Twilight Madness (GB)’ placing as Level Up had lost neither ground nor momentum, sufficient to overcome the margin of a head separating Twilight Madness (GB) from Level Up at the finishing line.
Langley was cautioned for careless riding as she was slow to correct her mount from shifting left-handed, moving Level Up (IRE) marginally off its intended line which in turn brushed Thecoffeepoddotco (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Cast No Shadow (GB), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
