Leopardstown Thu, 6th Aug, 2026  Ethical Diamond It was hard work but he got the job done. That'll bring him forward. He's in a few races in Ireland and England, but I think there's a nice prize in Kentucky Downs in September over a mile-and-a-half that we might go for. I think it's a million dollar race, so we might have a crack at that. It's a nice left-handed track, ground is usually as hard as iron. It's a track where Grabel won all those years ago (1990, with Mullins in the saddle). It was called the Dueling Grounds then, so we know the place.

Limerick Thu, 2nd Jul, 2026  Eastmore Danny rang asking for permission to ride the horse out wide as he had walked the track and said it was worth 20 to 30 lengths by keeping out. I think it suited the horse being ridden on his own as well, so he had a double benefit really. There was probably a false reading for today's result and it is the jockey who should get the (handicapper's) penalty!. Danny would have ridden a bit for me in the past and it is his first winner for me.

Limerick Thu, 28th May, 2026  Qaasid It was unlucky on Philip Byrnes as his horse went for the wing (of the second-last hurdle) and the two boys on his outside lost out. My horse lost his two hind shoes and that, without a doubt, happened at the second-last. This horse deserved to win as he was unlucky at Clonmel the last day when he put his foot in a hole and slipped up. He fractured ribs and everything in that fall, so today is his first day back. I'm tired talking about watering of tracks, but there is a difference in the ground today and that is why almost everyone is going wide. It is the owners' first winner with me so I'm delighted, as we had a few quid on him in Clonmel. I go over to London once in a while to meet the syndicate and when we meet for a pint, it usually takes three days!

Leopardstown Fri, 15th May, 2026  The Real Screamer He won in Dundalk (in January) and got a bit of a cough when we were meant to run again, and we pulled out. We just took our time. We were going to go last Saturday, and I just thought this race every year doesn't be the strongest and we just waited for this. We were delighted to get Sadhbh to ride him.
