Permission was given for Tolstoy (IRE), Believe The Storm (IRE) and Shamrock Bay (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Hickory (IRE) to go early, wear a red hood to post and be mounted in the chute.
Believe The Storm (IRE), trained by Charlie Fellowes, failed to enter the parade ring due to the gelding being difficult to saddle.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving Believe The Storm (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Jack Mitchell and Sterling Knight (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Edward Greatrex.
The interference was found to be accidental as after missing the start from stall 7, Mitchell had crossed over to the rail quickly whereupon he then improved his position very rapidly down the inside of Sterling Knight (GB), before having to take a significant check when running out of racing room after being unable to negotiate the first bend inside of Sterling Knight (GB), which had kept relatively straight from stall 4 and had other runners to its outside crossing over, which further limited Greatrex from being able to give Believe The Storm (IRE) any additional room.
A further enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving, Koy Koy (GB), unplaced, ridden by Cieren Fallon and Tilted Kilt (FR), placed third, ridden by Mason Paetel.
The interference was found to be accidental as Koy Koy (GB) had lugged quickly left-handed across the heels of Sailthisshipalone (GB), unplaced, when racing awkwardly, causing Paetel to take a check on Tilted Kilt (FR) when short of racing room.
