The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend after the fourth last fence involving Fremantle Doctor, ridden by Ben Harvey, placed third, Mr Eastwood, ridden by Paul Kavanagh, unplaced, and Hurricane Honey, ridden by Kieren Buckley, placed second, where it appeared Mr Eastwood ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Ben Harvey stated that the horse on his outside moved in slightly causing his mount to move in also but he was aware of the horse on his inside. Paul Kavanagh stated that his race was run when he received minor interference. Kieran Buckley stated that his mount shifted slightly right but there was always enough room for two on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Ben Harvey was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Ben Harvey for two racedays

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards reminded Paul Kavanagh of his responsibilities under Rule 272, to give accurate evidence, and under Rule 213, to report anything that might have affected the running of his mount in a race.
