That was good, I thought we were just after getting nabbed like at Punchestown. He is a grand horse and if I had known about the fences coming out earlier I probably would have loaded him up and went home. He is dynamite to jump, jumping is his game. I sold him to the boys a few years ago and he is after winning over hurdles and fences. We can go back over hurdles with him or keep him over fences. We gave him a little break after Punchestown. He was probably a bit unfit at Galway and probably needed the run, but it set him up for today. It's all roads to Listowel now. He has options there and Liam doesn't want us to run him on the last day because I think he is suspended for that! . We've always liked him, he is a fine big horse, a fine big chaser. He has plenty of ability.

Owing to the low lying sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for fences one and two to be omitted from this race
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference close to the line involving Battle Of Ridgeway, ridden by L.A. McKenna, placed first, and The Striker Dylan, ridden by B. Hayes, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B. Hayes stated that his mount was intimidated and backed away from Battle Of Ridgeway a stride and a half before the line which he felt cost him the winning of the race. L.A. McKenna stated that he misjudged the winning post due to the sun but his mount picked up again and he felt the best horse won. He further added the interference happened on the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that L.A. McKenna was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (fourth offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for twelve racedays.
