Formscan By Mark Nunan - Henry de Bromhead’s team is in superb form and this looks a gilt-edged opportunity for the consistent NUIT (8) to get off the mark on her twelfth start. The Sea The Stars filly was raised 3lb to a mark of 96 after her latest fourth in a Group 3 at Fairyhouse, and this return to calmer waters gives her a huge chance. Catherine Magennis improved from her debut when second at Roscommon, but the winner of that maiden is rated 78 which leaves her with a mountain to climb. Black Heather was fancied when two places behind the latter at Roscomon. That was his first run in over a year and his bumper win came at this course. %0A%0A

Quotes on Catalani (IRE)
Catalani is a real favourite at home, and everyone loves him. His form has been fierce good this year, he hasn't been out of the first three whether it be a point-to-point or on the track bar one day in Thurles. Rob was delighted with him, he said it is as good as he has ever jumped and he loves that good ground. The ground was important to him. He has a real good appetite for the game, and we'll keep him on the go now during the summer.

Quotes on Figero (IRE)
This time last year we said he was a right horse and he’d win a bumper. He got balloted out of a few bumpers and we decided to give him a break. We brought him back for the winter but he doesn’t like soft ground, he’s a summer horse. He ran disappointing in two bumpers and we put it down mainly to the ground. We thought he didn’t stay and I’d say that’s as far as he wants it, two miles. He’s a great jumper, loves it, and jumped brilliantly. I’d say the ground was the whole thing for him and he grew up a bit in the meantime as well. He won’t be running in the winter again. He’s a fighter as well. He’s a nice horse at home and we did fancy him to win a bumper, and he would have on good ground but time was running out and we saw this race. It’s for horses that weren’t placed after two runs so we said we’d crack on and go for it. We’ll maybe look for a novice now and I think he’ll win a mile-and-a-half maiden on the Flat. We’ll celebrate this first and then see what happens.

Quotes on Kings Hill (IRE)
He is a good horse, but didn't get the rub of the green for a while and he had surgery on a kissing spine. Since he started jumping fences, he is a different horse and he is entitled to win today's race with his run in the Supreme (Novices Hurdle of 2024). He will be better on better ground and his time of year is coming, so we'll place him as we go by. I would have loved him to go to Cheltenham, but one of his owners preferred to stay home with him and, with the slow year we've had, the horses are only coming back to form now. We're better off to get a winner here. Jack is at home with us three days a week, is now with Oliver McKiernan and other local trainers, but it is hard for these guys who are attached to small yards.

Quotes on Way Down South (IRE)
He won his maiden hurdle this time last year and we thought he’d progress from that, but he went backwards. . He just enjoys fences. He ran poorly in Limerick, and it was a gamble bringing him back so fast, but the cheekpieces helped, tongue-tie helped, the ground helped and dropping him back two furlongs helped. . He jumped well. Dan knows him and it does take a jockey to know him. I’m delighted and some of the owners (WDS Syndicate) are here as well.

Quotes on Pampar Lady (IRE)
she was placed as a four-year-old but is six now, and it took until now to win. It has been frustrating for the syndicate but nice that she has won. She is a speedy little mare who doesn’t find very much off the bridle although is settling a lot better this season. She is learning how to race better and Keith gave her a chance to settle. It was a covid-named syndicate and most are from Meath and Louth but the Cork members are here today.
